IMPA ACT team delivers presentation at annual Incentra Council Meeting

November 18, 2021
Invited by long-standing IMPA ACT partners Incentra SA, Stephen and Jasmine from the IMPA team delivered a comprehensive presentation on IMPA ACT for the Norwegian shipping community.

Long-standing IMPA ACT partner and Norwegian buying group Incentra invited IMPA’s Stephen and Jasmine to deliver a presentation on IMPA ACT to its 40 member companies and 50+ suppliers during its 2021 Council Meeting, titled “Sustainability forward in the maritime industry”.

First established in 2015, the IMPA ACT-Incentra partnership has been instrumental in the success of our state-of-the-art responsible supply chain management initiative, now amassing more than 100 companies working towards compliance with the IMPA ACT Code of Conduct, including major shipowners and ship-managers such as DFDS, Wilhelmsen and Oldendorff Carriers, and leading suppliers such as Alfa Laval and Wärtsilä.

Incentra, made of 40 member companies (including ship and rig owners, and managers with operations and procurement activities managed and run from Norway), works to establish and manage long-term framework agreements with suppliers for spares, service and consumables used in the global operation of members’ marine vessels. All of Incentra’s suppliers are signatories to the principles of the IMPA ACT Code of Conduct and work towards establishing processes and systems that ensures their alignment with the UNGPs and OECD Guidelines, i.e. the very backbone of the programme. Incentra works in close collaboration with the IMPA ACT team in amplifying the IMPA ACT sustainability concept and extending it to the Norwegian shipping community.

Taking place on 10th November 2021, Incentra’s annual council meeting brought together the organisation’s members and suppliers to discuss current topics of interest and set the strategy for the organisation going forward. This year, Stephen and Jasmine joined the event to deliver a presentation on how IMPA ACT can help your company increase transparency in its value chain, develop better relationships with suppliers, and become a more responsible business overall. IMPA ACT members Utkilen and Alfa Laval, as part of Incentra, have also joined the event to show how they have worked with the programme so far and how it has helped them improve their processes.

After the event came to a close, IMPA Head of Sustainability Jasmine Schestak said:

What a fantastic opportunity to present IMPA ACT to the Incentra community during a day focused on sustainability in shipping and packed with plenty of learning, debating and - oh, so welcome - networking! The day finished with a lovely dinner in great company. Thank you, Incentra team, for inviting us to speak on the subject and for helping us expand IMPA ACT's presence in Scandinavia. Ha det bra, Norwegian friends, or better said - see you at IMPA London in a month!
